The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Black 41 mm is one out of three new steel black Seamaster Aqua Terra’s. But hang on, weren’t there black Seamaster Aqua Terra’s already? Yes, out of 130 models that are available today, a few of them are black indeed. However, they either have a horizontal teak pattern dial, or they come with a steel with gold case and bracelet.

So, what’s new to this Aqua Terra, and its two siblings in 38 millimeters and 34 millimeters, is the lacquered black varnish dial. Which makes it on average about 300 more expensive than the teak ones. For that, you will get a deeper, more shiny black dial, which actually looks more classy. The hands and hour markers are rhodium-plated with white super-luminova with blue glow.

The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Black 41 mm has a power reserve of 60 hours

Like most larger three-hand Aqua Terra’s with a date it runs on the METAS certified Omega caliber 8900. This automatic has a power reserve of 60 hours, thanks to two series coupled barrels, a coaxial escapement and a free sprung-balance with silicon balance spring. Winding is bi-directional and the movement has Côtes de Genève finish which you can admire through the sapphire case back. Its time zone function is a handy add-on: it allows you to move the hours back and forth independent from the minutes hand.

It is not only the dial that differs from the teak models, also the bracelet is different. The teak models have a regular 3-row bracelet, but this new Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Black 41 mm has a finer 3-row model. Also, with a fold-over butterfly clasp.
