The Omega Speedmaster Chronoscope Paris 2024 marks the moment of the start of the Olympic Games on the 26th of July 2024. As the Swiss brand is the official timekeeper of the Paris 2024 Olympics. In fact they are the official timekeeper of the Olympics since 1932.

The brand originally released the Speedmaster Chonoscope in 2021. In short the model is a mix of different Speedmaster functionalities that have been released over the years, bundled in one timepiece. The regular Chronoscopes are available in different colors and materials.

The Chronoscope offers a range of measurements

The Paris 2024 model is presented in four versions: two steel ones with anodized aluminium bezel and either a bracelet or leather strap. And two Moonshine gold models with a ceramic bezel, also with a bracelet or leather strap. The design is very Speedy when it comes to the case and bezel, the dial isn’t. As it has grey 1940s snail design scales for a tachymeter, telemeter and pulsometer, apart from two sub dials for small seconds and a 12-hours / 60-minutes counter. Combined with gold accents on numerals and hands it gives the Omega Speedmaster Chronoscope Paris 2024 a certain vintage look.

The tachymeter can be used as a speed indicator or for determining distances, bearings, or elevations of distant objects in surveying. The telemeter can be used for measuring the distance of an object from an observer. And lastly the pulsometer – also known as the sphygmograph – is used to measure pulse rates. The watch also has an option to use a time zone function. Which means you can adjust the hour hand without stopping the watch.

The Omega Speedmaster Chronoscope Paris 2024 has a power reserve of 60 hours

The case back, either in steel or gold, is adorned with a stamped medallion showcasing a mirror-polished Paris 2024 logo. Along with the stamped words “Paris 2024” and the Olympic Rings. The watch is powered by a hand-wound Omega caliber 9908 for the steel version and the 9909 for the gold version. Both are the same except for the balance bridge: that comes in 18k gold for caliber 9909. Which you cannot see unless you open the watch. Both movements deliver a power reserve of 60 hours.

The Omega Speedmaster Chronoscope Paris 2024 comes on a stainless steel bracelet or a leather strap for the steel version. The gold version has a gold bracelet or a leather strap.
