For all fans of the Speedmaster, here is the Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Bi-Color. The model brings another two variants of Omega’s co-axial master chronometer chronograph, now with steel and gold combined. This Bi-Color comes either in yellow gold which Omega calls Moonshine gold, or in pink gold which Omega calls Sedna gold.
Both golds are created by the Swiss brand and contain 18k gold mixed with other materials in order to obtain more resistance to the fading of color and luster over time. So, it’s an even better quality than regular 18k gold.
Unchanged Speedmaster setup
The two Bi-Colors are the same as the recently released Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Lacquered White Dial for instance. So, with a stepped dial and three registers. Small seconds (left), 30-minutes totalizer (right) and 12-hours totalizer (bottom). All with gold and gold tones.
The yellow gold version has a sun-brushed silvery dial with galvanic 18k gold sub dials. Hands and indexes are also from yellow gold. bezel, pushers and crown as well. The pink gold version has a sun-brushed pink PVD 18k gold dial with black coated sub dials. Here the hands and indexes are pink gold, as well as the bezel, pushers and crown.
The Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Bi-Color has a power reserve of 50 hours
Inside is the hand-wound Omega caliber 3861 that was introduced in 2019. It’s a heavily modified Lemania caliber 1873, now with an anti-magnetic hairspring and co-axial escapement, among many other improvements. And the 3861 replaces the caliber 1861 and 861 that were also used in Speedmasters. It has rhodium-plated finish, bridges with straight Geneva waves, it is METAS certified, and delivers a power reserve of 50 hours.
The Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Bi-Color comes on a stainless steel combined with the same gold as the case. So, yellow gold (moonshine gold) or with pink gold (sedna gold). The fold-over clasp is from stainless steel.
