This Oris Aquis Chronograph continues the legacy of the Aquis Date divers collection with some updates, including a lighter case and bezel profile. The bracelet also has a finer taper, improving comfort for daily wear, and the dial’s detailing has been refined for better legibility. Despite these changes, the watch retains its recognizable silhouette.

Also, it keeps its diver legacy, with a water resistance of up to 30 bar, equivalent to 300 meters or 990 feet. It still has a screw-down crown and a unidirectional rotating bezel with a ceramic insert. The transparent case back gives you a view of the movement inside, including the red rotor.

The movement of this Aquis Chronograph is the Oris caliber 771-1, which can also be found in the Oris Diver Sixty-Five Chronograph. Initially, it had a power reserve of 48 hours, however, this has changed to 62. Which is in line with the Sellita caliber SW510 a on which it is probably based. For the aforementioned Sixty-Five and this new Aquis. It could be that this 771-1 is an updated 771 that still has 48 hours of power reserve.

This chrono tracks continuous seconds and has a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, and a 12-hour counter at 6. This one also bears the date window. The case measures 43.5 millimeters and is from stainless steel.

Water-style dial

The dial of this Aquis comes in a gradient blue design, which reflects light much like the sun through water. The bezel and sub dials strengthen this effect. The silver-grey hands and indices are coated with super-luminova under the double-domed sapphire crystal. To minimize glare, it has an anti-reflective coating, however just on the inside.

The watch also features a finely adjustable stainless steel bracelet with a security folding clasp, ensuring a secure fit on the wrist. The price tag of this diver is about 4,000 to 5,000 and is pretty serious.
