Panerai is one of the first brands who introduced us to the appeal of a bronze case. That was 2011 with the Panerai Bronzo and since then bronze cases have become the new black. The new Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic 47 mm is also available in bronze, and titanium as well.
The reference PAM01305 has a whole case made of titanium, a material with excellent corrosion resistance and external shocks resistance. And it is a very light material, and therefore ideal for reducing the weight.
Only the bronze version of the Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic 47 mm is limited
The more special – and expensive – bronze case is an alloy of copper and pure tin. As well as being structurally very strong, this material preserves its warm original tones, while acquiring a quite nice ‘aged’ look with a characteristic patina which forms over time. No worries, the patina has no effect on the intrinsic properties of the material, it’s just a sign of the visual ageing process.
In the center of the back is a sapphire glass porthole through which the P.9010 automatic caliber can be seen. It offers a power-reserve of three days.
The Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic 47 mm in titanium is not a limited edition. The Bronzo is limited to 1,000 pieces. Both are fine sports watches that can be worn any time, with the bronze one being the clear standout. Especially after it has seen a bit of ‘abuse’ with some great patina as a result. But if you’re very particular with your watches and want them in pristine order, go for the titanium.
