PF is revitalizing its Toric collection with this Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Chronograph Rattrapante Rose Gold, a watch loaded with gold. Not only the 42.5-millimeter case, crown and pushers are gold, so is the movement. Take a look at the back of the watch, also in gold, with sapphire crystal, and you will discover that the main structure of the movement is completely gold.

But first, let’s look at the side you will see the most when wearing it. The dial is executed in a color called natural umber by PF. Normally a color somewhere between yellow-brown to reddish-brown and even green-brown. Here is has more of a coffee tint. And it’s grained by hand.

Rattrapante (or split-seconds) chronograph

The design of the dial is clean and shows three sub dials with small seconds at the bottom, a 12-hour totalizer at 9 o’clock and a 30-minute totalizer at 3. And you will see two central chronograph hands, as this rattrapante chronograph is able to time two consecutive periods at the same time.

The main chronograph hand keeps on timing, the rattrapante hand that joins the main hand, can be stopped independently in order to read an intermediate time. After that, the hands can be rejoined until the moment of a next intermediate timing.

The Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Chronograph Rattrapante Rose Gold has a power reserve of 65 hours

Not only are rattrapante chronographs very complicated, it’s a sort of double chronograph Which makes it very challenging to execute in gold. The key elements of the automatic Parmigiani Fleurier caliber PF361-SLIM are from other materials. As gold might be too soft for gears, for example. But the rest of this double column wheel movement is crafted from 18-carat rose gold.

Behold the skeletonized elements with satin-finished open-worked and beveled bridges and more. This high-beater, timing up to 1/10th of a second, has a power reserve of 65 hours and comes on a brown hand-stitched nubuck alligator leather strap with rose gold pin buckle. The Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Chronograph Rattrapante Rose Gold is limited to 30 pieces only.
