This unique Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 5711/1500A is donated by Patek Philippe to be auctioned on the 25th of November 2024, at the Children Action Gala. In 1994 Swiss entrepreneur Bernard Sabrier founded Children Action a foundation dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of impoverished children around the world. To date over 215,000 children have been helped.

This Children Action Gala is a biannual fundraising event that includes a small selection of auction items to support projects of the foundation. Those items can be jewelry, wine, safaris, or a watch for instance. Since 2005, Patek has supported the foundation by offering a unique timepiece at the Children Action Gala auctions.

On what kind of Patek Philippe can you bid?

Well, it is a regular but irregular Nautilus, with a stainless steel case, bezel, bracelet, and case back that are hand-engraved with a “Māori-inspired” motif. The engraving style distinctly references the Māori people of New Zealand. The first ever engraved sport watch by the brand, and the first ever engraved stainless steel model.

This Nautilus Ref. 5711/1500A has a sort of sunburst slate grey dial. Maybe with a hint of brown or a bit of charcoal grey with a sunburst effect. Of course, It has the renewed horizontal Nautilus embossing or grooved pattern, adding more depth and contrast.

The power reserve of this Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 5711/1500A is about 35 to 45 hours

The Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 5711/1500A runs on the Patek Philippe caliber 26-330 S C, an automatic movement with central seconds and a date. Its power reserve is about 35 to 45 hours and you can find this movement in this new Patek Philippe Cubitus Ref. 5821 as well for instance. In-house, with high finishing and a 21-karat gold central rotor.

Apart from the watch, you will also get a set of matching cufflinks (with reference 205.9057A-010). And although this Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 5711/1500A isn’t necessarily a looker, it will raise a lot for a good cause. Read article number 1 of the Children Auction: The first human right is the right to a childhood. Amen.

Edit: the watch was hammered on the 25th of November 2024 for CHF 6’700’000, which is approx. $ 7,560,000, € 7,200,000 or £ 6,000,000. Which makes it enter the list of most expensive watches in the world.
