The Patek Philippe World Time Date Ref. 5330G is a new addition to the permanent collection of the Swiss brand. It combines a world timer with a date by hand. At first site it looks complicated – which is correct when it comes to the movement – but it’s a proven concept of reading two times at once. Already since the 1930s when this “heures universelles” was invented by Louis Cottier.

The dial has two discs. One with the 24 cities in all the world’s time zones and a 24-hour disc. The regular hands display your current time and the second time zone is adjusted with the pusher at the 10 o’clock position. The 24-hour circle with day/night indication will turn counterclockwise and the regular hands will also tell you the time from the 24-hour display.

Date with a glass hand

The date display is synchronized with the local time and is shown with a transparent hand of glass. The red tip indicates the date while the hand does not disturb the reading of the dial. Which is executed in opaline blue-grey with a carbon-like pattern.

The faceted dauphine hour and minute hands are from white gold and coated with white luminescent material. Just like the white gold applied faceted baton-style hour markers. All mounted in a 40-millimeter white gold case.

The Patek Philippe World Time Date Ref. 5330G has a power reserve of 48 hours

Inside runs the automatic Patek Philippe caliber 240 HU C with a power reserve of 38 to 48 hours. It bears the Patek Philippe seal ensuring an extreme accuracy and has a 22K gold off-center guilloched mini rotor.

The Patek Philippe World Time Date Ref. 5330G comes on a blue-grey hand-stitched calfskin strap with denim pattern. And it is secured with a white gold fold-over clasp.

Did you known that the classic Patek Philippe world timers belong to the most sought after time pieces? There are several Ref. 2523 models in the list of most expensive watches in the world.
