For the Windup Watch Fair in Chicago the Swiss brand presents the Perrelet Turbine Splash with some Jackson Pollock-like paint splatter. We know the concept already: a colorful disc behind the rotors of the spinning turbine on the dial. The recent 41-millimeter Perrelet Turbine Mexico Limited Edition is a good example of it.
This new Splash has a larger case, 44 millimeters, and has a body of polycarbonate and carbon fiber. The bezel is from stainless steel coated with a matt black PVD. Under the sapphire is the 12-bladed turbine with tungsten weights to make it spin in order to see the disc underneath. This shows the colors as it has splashes of fluor green, yellow, purple, fuchsia, light blue and orange. The faster the turbine rotates, the more will be visible. And the colors can also be found on the hour markers.
The Perrelet Turbine Splash has a power reserve of 42 hours
The watch runs on the automatic Perrelet caliber P-331-MH, just like the aforementioned Mexico edition. A Soprod base with COSC and Chronofiable certification adorned with circular-grained bridges to the rhodium-plated, open-worked oscillating weight. Which is mounted on ball bearings and has the Perrelet logo. The power reserve is 42 hours.
The Perrelet Turbine Splash can be worn with a black calf leather strap with alligator pattern and rubber lining. Secure it with the stainless steel folding clasp in black PVD, or mount the additional black rubber strap with the fastening tool. The watch is limited to 99 pieces.
