It all started in 1972 with a matt black chronograph: the Porsche Design Chronograph I. Porsche fans love that model and it has become a highly-sought model. In 1980 Porsche Design introduced the first chronograph entirely made from titanium: the Porsche Design Titan 1 Chronograph.

This model was a collaboration with IWC and had pushers integrated in the case. Just like this Porsche Design Monobloc Actuator GMT-Chronotimer. Or the Porsche Design Monobloc Actuator 24H-Chronotimer when you want a full black version. Of course, the watch is linked to a Porsche model: the new 911 RSR, a track racer. One of the best racers in its class.

The Porsche Design Monobloc Actuator GMT-Chronotimer is available with black or blue dial

As said, the chronograph has pushers that are integrated in the case. Porsche Design calls it “an integrated rocker switch which controls the chronograph’s operation entirely from inside the watch’s case”. It not only has a clean case design, it is also easier to operate wearing race gloves as the rocker is big. Almost a quarter of the case. And it feels quite mechanical when you push it, it’s not a smooth pushing system.

The Porsche Design Monobloc Actuator GMT-Chronotimer runs with an ETA/Valjoux 7754 caliber, which is an ETA/Valjoux caliber 7750 with GMT. A solid movement offering a power-reserve of 48 hours. At the 9 o’clock position there is a small aperture that shows if the watch is running. Which has a checkered flag design on the Porsche Design Monobloc Actuator 24H-Chronotimer version.

The edgy, round case is 45.5 millimeters and made from titanium. The Porsche Design Monobloc Actuator GMT-Chronotimer comes with a titanium bracelet or rubber strap, the 24H-Chronotimer is only available with rubber strap. That version is limited to 251 pieces.
