This Raymond Weil Freelancer Automatic Chronograph with Tachymeter is a new model in the Freelancer series with chronograph and tachymeter. The complete series (for men as well as women) has so many varieties that it looks a kind of uninspired. Name a case material or dial color or dial layout and you will find it in the Freelancer series.
The chronographs with tachymeter are an exception to that. Especially the one with black dial and this new model with silver dial and white hands look very cool. A combination between sporty looks with a touch of classic chrono’s. According to Raymond Weil it is ‘designed for the active man’. Sure. We wonder if they have models for the lazy man too.
Forget about most of the Freelancer models, you should have this Raymond Weil Freelancer Automatic Chronograph with Tachymeter
The size is perfect: its 43.5-millimetres steel case has enough presence. The silver dial makes it classic, the dark blue sub-dials and dark blue tachy scale on the bezel are a nice contrast. Perhaps it are the Speedmaster CK2998 looks that makes us enthusiastic.
Inside the Raymond Weil Freelancer Automatic Chronograph with Tachymeter there is an automatic winding mechanical chronograph. The calibre? It’s not in Raymond Weils specs. As other Freelancer Automatics use a Valjoux (most of them are the Valjoux 7750) it’s probably in this one as well. But talking about somewhat uninspired watches, look at the specs at their website.
Just a silver dial? Nothing more? What about the hour markers, the hands? Can we see the back please? This watch and this series deserves more detailed and better attention. And some passion as well. So if you are looking for a special watch and not one that comes in massive numbers with ordinary looks, skip most of the models from the Freelancer series. But you might have fallen for the design of this one. We did.
