The brand Rebellion, launched in 2008, is all about racecars. In fact, the name comes from a French racing brand addicted to the famous Le Mans race. Their team only has one goal: winning Le Mans. During their racing activities, the owner of the team, not only a car lover but also a watch lover, decided to launch a watch collection. After some ups and downs in finding the right people and the right technical partners they recently undertook a sort of soft relaunch. Back on track Rebellion comes with some very interesting models.

This Rebellion Predator 2.0 Regulator GMT belongs to the new Predator collection. That’s why it is called Predator 2.0. The hour and minute hands are not ‘connected’ with each other which is why it is called a regulator. Besides that, it has no hour hand but the brake caliper of a racing car. We’ll get back to that later. The watch also features a globe to display a second time zone, so it’s a GMT too. Now let’s take a closer look.

The Rebellion Predator 2.0 Regulator GMT comes in three version: titanium, black titanium and gold

The globe is connected to the central axis of the movement and turns around at the same speed as an hour hand would do. The small red/white triangle at the South pole position points to the corresponding hour of your home time. So when it is 12 o’clock in your second time zone the globe is upside-down. Which means the globe is more a hand with a big graphical impression to show a second time zone instead of a useful visual to help you read the second time easier.

The regular hours of the Rebellion Predator 2.0 Regulator GMT are shown by a big red brake caliper moving over a brake disc. A great visual to underline the racing genes of the watch. The minutes are shown by the large central hand pointing at a racecar inspired minute track. Another link with racecars. Which makes the time zone globe a little out of synch with the rest of the design. Perhaps the balance in design would have been more clear if the brake caliper would have shown the second time zone. And a conventional hand for the hours. With a racy design, of course. Idea for the Predator 3.0?

It has a see-through back case to have a great view on the Rebellion finished oscillating weight. Guess what it is… The weight drives an ETA caliber 2892 automatic with a module from Telos Watch, a Swiss movement design company.

The Rebellion Predator 2.0 Regulator GMT is limited to 25 pieces and available in titanium, titanium with black DLC or in 5N gold. The case size is huge: 48 millimeters. Watch the video below the specs for a quick impression.
