The Ressence Type 3.6 B and Type 3.6 W are two models, for now forming the renewed Type 3, in black (B) or white (W). The renewing part has to do with improved fonts: never underestimate how important they can be for a watch. Furthermore, a changed hour disc and redesigned shock absorber. O, and some new pastel tones for the weekend days and oil temperature.

The case and the dial are from titanium, where the dial either has black DLC coating or a white coating. The upper part is immersed in oil for great visual effects, now it is also on the part of the case back. It really looks like all elements are kind of digitally screened or printed in the glass. But it’s not.

Rotating dials on a rotating dial

When it comes to the rotation of the dial and sub dials nothing has changed. It still takes some time to get used to read the time, but if you focus on the hours on the big sub dial and minutes with the large central hand, all will be fine.

The date is indicated at the bottom by the yellow (B) or green (W) marker, the disc with five white lines and two green lines shows the day of the week. Green is the weekend. Then there is a so called runner, small seconds that rotate in 180 steps per minute. You never knew you would need that, right? And lastly the oil temperature indicator. Which is connected to the bellows inside that balance the expansion and contraction of the oil under the sapphire.

The Ressence Type 3.6 B and Type 3.6 W have a power reserve of 36 hours

Inside these Type 3.6’s runs the Ressence ROCS 3.6, their Ressence Orbital Convex System. In the press release the brand tells it is driven by a customized automatic base caliber, however unspecified. The ROCS 3.5 is driven by the ETA caliber 2824-2, so we assume this 3.6 is as well. It is unclear what the differences are, it might be the improved shock absorber. The power reserve of 36 hours is unchanged.

The Ressence Type 3.6 B comes on a black synthetic strap and the Type 3.6 W has a medium grey woven fabric strap with blue-green lining. Both with a Titanium Ardillon buckle. The price tag of the Type 3.6 is roughly between 35 and 44k excluding local taxes. If you like this watch but you want a full black case as well, look at the Ressence Type 3 BB2 (Black Black). And there is also a green-ish version, this Ressence Type 3 EE Eucalyptus.
