What is better than a watch with a flying tourbillon? Well, a watch with two flying tourbillons of course. This Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Double Flying Tourbillon is part of the new Dare to be Rare concept.
This concept is inspired by performance oriented industries and super car supremacy. Total nonsense of course, but the result is great. This Excalibur Spider is an impressive piece that deserves admiring. Even from those who find the presence of this Roger Dubuis a bit too much.
The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Double Flying Tourbillon is limited to 28 pieces
Let’s start with the skeleton dial. It is the kind of dial that is featured on every Excalibur Spider watch. The watch is inspired by the colors typical of super car dashboards. The vibrant orange shade of the rubber overmolding is picked up on the two-tone skeleton dial as well as the strap and stitching. A wink to super car seats with their different materials and multi-color details.
This ‘extravagant’ model is powered by a brand-new hand-wound Roger Dubuis skeleton caliber RD105SQ. The twin flying tourbillons at 5 and 7 o’clock are rimmed by speedometer-type small seconds displays, while the multi-colored power-reserve indicator is a nod to racing car cockpit fuel gauges.
This Double Flying Tourbillon comes on a bi-material strap made of rubber with leather inlays and is limited to 28 pieces. Is the orange too much for you, take a look at this blue Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Pirelli Double Flying Tourbillon. Almost the same features and almost the same price.
