The Swiss watchmaker makes their new special edition in collaboration with Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment and presents the caped crusader in a new high-end setting.
Romain Jerome chose their SkyLab model for their Dark Knight Homage. One where transparency dominates the piece. The outside is a 48-millimeter black PVD-coated steel case. The steel paws and lugs are polished and satin-finished. Inside we find a Swiss Made manual-winding movement.It is the caliber RJ004-M designed by Romain Jerome and characterized by straight lines and chamfered angles.
The Romain Jerome SkyLab Batman has a power reserve of 48 hours
The sapphire crystal on the dial side reveals the three-layers of the skeleton movement. And you can see the vital organs of the watch. There is the barrel at 12 o’clock and the balance wheel at the 6 o’clock position. At the center of the dial, a skeletonized and luminescent Batman-logo can be clearly seen. In addition, another Batman reference can be found on the sapphire crystal case back. There is a metallized map of Bruce Wayne’s/Batman’s hometown of Gotham City. Which is actually cool.
The price is a bit much for the average Batman collector. But the SkyLab Batman is definitely more successful watch-wise than RJ’s last Batman-collaboration: the rather ‘simple’ RJ Batman-DNA. The more Dark Knight-worthy Romain Jerome SkyLab Batman comes on a black alligator leather strap and is limited to 75 pieces.
