To celebrate 60 years of Seiko automatic watches, Seiko launched a couple of limited edition models. This Seiko Presage Automatic 60th Anniversary Limited Edition is the latest one.
In 1956 Seiko launched its first automatic watch and ever since their models are very popular. Not only because they are affordable, but also because of the proven quality of their mechanical watches.
The design of the Seiko Presage Automatic 60th Anniversary Limited Edition goes back to 1956
Inside this new Presage is Seiko’s caliber 6R27 with a power-reserve of 45 hours. It features a sweep date indication and a retrograde power-reserve indication. The automatic caliber can also be hand-wound and has a gold-colored rotor.
Its design is inspired on the 1956 Marvel model with a clean off-white dial and gold-colored hands and indexes. The snake-shaped “S” mark has moved from the dial to the crown.
The see-through case back has a “limited edition” engravement and the serial number. The model is limited to 1956 pieces, referring to the year of the first automatic.
