We often wonder why anyone would like to have parts of the human skeleton in or on a watch? Isn’t it a kind of morbide? Founder and watchmaker of Speake Marin, Peter Speake-Marin, doesn’t share this opinion given his new model: the Speake Marin Crazy Skull. And he is not the only one as more watchmakers have time pieces with skulls in their collection. Like HYT, Hublot and Pierre DeRoche.
The Speake Marin Crazy Skull is limited to two pieces in total
Let’s skip the discussion about bones and watches. You like it or you don’t. By the way, Speake Marin does bespoke creation. This Speake Marin Crazy Skull is another technical milestone for the brand. It features a 60-seconds tourbillon, a minute repeater carillon, and a dial with animation. We can explain how it works and how it looks, but watching the video below the specs tells so much more. Pay attention to the Roman numerals at 12 o’clock. And the heart-shaped tourbillon when the skulls are ‘closed’.
The Crazy Skull comes in two versions; one with grey skulls and one with black skulls. And both are unique; Speake Marin only makes one piece of each.
