A new color for the Ripples collection with this Speake Marin Ripples Dune Date. A limited edition of 60 pieces that follows the design of the Speake Marin Ripples Infinity Date the brand released earlier. In fact, it is exactly the same watch however now with another color scheme.
The dial, on a brass plate, has this straited effect with 12 ripples, and is executed in a sand color with a zapon finish. This is a transparent varnish to create a metallic effect for the dial and the dark green elements on it. As the small seconds sub dial at the unusual 1:30 location is dark green. And the minute track on the edge of the dial is dark green too. Which is also marked by white dots. At the 6 o’clock position is a date aperture.
The Speake Marin Ripples Dune Date has a power reserve of 52 hours
Inside the 40.3-millimeter stainless steel case ticks the Speake Marin caliber SMA03-TD. It’s an automatic build in a traditional Swiss way, often indicated with a “T” on the dial, here it is indicated with the “T” in “TD”. And the “D” is for “Date”. It has an off-center integrated tungsten micro-rotor, a circular-grained main plate, and rhodium-plated bridges embellished with Côtes de Genève. The power reserve is 52 hours. The brand builds their movements in their own atelier “Le Cercle des Horlogers” in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.
