The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Solargraph x Time+Tide Sundowner is a collaboration between the Australian online watch platform and the renewed Swiss watch brand. Time+Tide is dedicated to watch culture and also sells watches. For which they sometimes create special edition in partnership with a watch brand.
Here, the result is a limited-edition piece made for extreme conditions and outdoor adventures. The Aquaracer in general, introduced in 2004, has roots in TAG Heuer’s long-standing focus on robust, water-resistant watches. The TAG Heuer Aquaracer collection offers professional-grade features for divers and adventurers. And this Solargraph x Time+Tide Sundowner continues this tradition with advanced solar technology and a design that draws inspiration from Australia’s desert landscapes. Of course, to honor Time+Tide’s Australian origins. So what do we have here?
Case and Dial Details
The watch features a 40-millimeter grade 2 sandblasted titanium case. This material ensures lightness and durability, making it suitable for outdoor use. It has more or less the same hardness as stainless steel, whereas grade 5 titanium can be double as hard. The bezel is also grade 2 titanium, unidirectional rotating, and has rose gold-toned markings.
The anthracite sunray brushed dial with horizontal grooves adds depth and contrast, and it is semi-translucent to charge the movement. Furthermore, the dial is enhanced by 18-karat rose gold-plated indices and hands, with super-luminova. The TAG Heuer logo and the Time+Tide anchor logo are also rose gold-plated, creating cohesive detailing.

Movement and Performance of this Aquaracer Solargraph
This Aquaracer is powered by the TAG Heuer Calibre TH50-00. It is a solar-powered quartz developed with La Joux-Perret, a movement maker owned by the Citizen Group. Which is why some believe the movement is based on the Citizen caliber E168. Well, as Citizen knows a thing or two about powering watches with light, think about their Eco-Drive technology, this might even be a good thing.
The movement captures energy from natural and artificial light, eliminating the need for battery replacements – the battery itself should last for 15 years. On a full charge, that takes about 40 hours in full light, it can run for 6 months without additional light exposure.
The watch comes with a khaki textile strap with a gold-toned titanium pin buckle, and you will also get a complimentary TAG Heuer travel pouch.
Pricing of the Aquaracer Solargraph x Time+Tide Sundowner
The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Solargraph x Time+Tide Sundowner is priced around 3k in US dollars or euros, which is not a bargain for quartz. Even though it’s solar-powered. And even though it probably has a solid background.
However, solar-powered quartz divers of brands like Citizen or Seiko start with prices around 500. Not in titanium, not limited to 250 pieces, and not TAG Heuer but still… On the other hand, its Australian roots might be worth something as well, especially when you are an Aussie, innit?
