Four new references for the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Extreme Sport, all with a diameter of 44 millimeters. Two in titanium with either blue or red accents, one in black DLC titanium with black accents and a gold and titanium version with gold accents. The four bold models are the successor of the 2016 Extreme Sport series.

The side of the big cases has a hollowed structure, which softens the 15.1-millimeter thickness, but the most attractive part is the dial. It’s fully open-worked, and the first “layer” is the date disc. On top of that is a rhodium plated structure (NAC-coated for the black and gold version) of lines with a circle in the middle and the brand’s shield logo as a part of it. It strengthens the rigid character of the watch.

Titanium cases for the Extreme Sport, one with rose gold

The case of the blue and red model is from fine-brushed and sandblasted grade-2 titanium. The black model has the same titanium, however with a matt black Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) coating. The gold version combines 18k 5N rose gold with matt black DLC titanium as the central body.

They all have a matt black ceramic bezel with a tachymeter scale, with grey inserts for the first three models and gold inserts for the gold model. At the 3 o’clock position is the 30-minutes totalizer of the chronograph, at 9 is the 12-hour totalizer. And at 6 is the small seconds. All those little hands are either rhodium plated and open-worked or gold plated and open-worked for the gold version. The date at 6 o’clock has a black or white super-luminova plate behind it, so the outline of the date is illuminated in the dark.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Extreme Sport has a power reserve of 80 hours

The movement of the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Extreme Sport is the new TAG Heuer caliber TH20-00. An automatic with two barrels (in 18K 5N solid rose gold for the gold version) delivering 80 hours of power reserve. We’ve seen this 2023 chronograph in a few models before, like in this TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Porsche 963 and this TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Dark Blue. All four Carrera Chronographs come on an integrated rubber strap matching the colors of the dial. The black version is only 200 more expensive than the “basic” ones, the gold model is around 3.5 to 4k more expensive.
