For all Indy 500 fans there is this TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph x Indy 500, as it has some references to this legendary car race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the US. The Swiss brand calls it a tribute to the world’s most dangerous racetrack. Specialists can tell if that’s true, we can’t. But let’s talk about this safe watch.

The logo of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway has a prominent position at 6 o’clock. It’s a wheel with wings, showing speed and motorsports, with five colors representing the diversity of competitors. Sometimes the logo also has a checkered flag as a background. You can see that on the steel engraved case back of the watch.

Racing at Indianapolis since 1911

Since 1911 races have been held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and there is a subtle reference to that moment. As the 11 hour marker is red, while the rest is white and has super-luminova. The skeletonized hour and minute hands have this as well.
