F.P. Journe caliber 1210
F.P. Journe caliber 1210 | Quartz | Diameter: 28.5 x 28.3 mm | Thickness: 3.13 mm | Frequency: 32’768 Hz | Parts: 132 | Jewels: 18 | Electromechanical movement with two-rotor motor and dedicated processor, stop-second device | Hours, minutes, small seconds, motion detection | Power reserve: 8-10 years (18 years in stand-by mode)
.
This is a unique quartz movement made and released in 2014 by F.P. Journe, taking 8 years of development. The battery lasts for years thanks to an automatic standby mode, after 35 minutes motionless. During the standby mode, a microprocessor continues to measure time, consuming almost no power at all. As all the mechanical elements like the gear train, rotors and hands, stop moving.
.
A motion detection device “can feel” that the watch is moved when you want to wear it, and as soon it detects motion, with an inertia weight, it goes “on” again. Then it automatically sets itself to the correct time with the hands taking the shortest path, whether clockwise or counter-clockwise.
