A tourbillon, moon phase and day/night indicator with a stunning 3D view: the Girard-Perregaux Planetarium Tri-Axial
Planetarium
A planetarium is described as a theater built for presenting astronomy and the night sky. A planetarium in or on a watch is also called an orrery and often a mechanical model of the solar system showing the relative positions and motions of the planets and moons.
.
The first orrery was invented around 1704 by George Graham, who also founded the watch brand Graham and Thomas Tompion. George Graham (7 July 1673 – 20 November 1751) was an English clockmaker, inventor, and geophysicist. Thomas Tompion (1639–1713) was an English clockmaker, watchmaker, and mechanic who is regarded as the Father of English Clockmaking.
