The Stowa Flieger Vintage series is a wave of new models. To find out which one is which is a serious puzzle, so we chop them into two different parts
Sellita caliber SW210 / SW210-1
Just like the Sellita SW200 the Sellita caliber SW210 is a specific series of movements, and all hand-winders. These are basically the hand-wound versions of the Sellita caliber SW200 / SW200-1. The ETA competitor of this SW210 is the ETA caliber 2801.
.
The SW210 was introduced by Sellita around 2004, just after the introduction of the SW200 in 2003. The specifications of the first generation SW210 are:
.
Sellita caliber SW210 | Hand-wound | Diameter: 25.6 mm (11½ lignes) | Thickness: 3.35 mm | Frequency: 28’800 vph (4 Hz) | Jewels: 18 | Stop-second device, quick date setting for the date version | Hours, minutes, seconds, with and without date | Power reserve: 42 hours
.
Second generation of the SW210, the Sellita SW210-1
.
Just like the SW200, the SW210 also gets an upgrade. In the middle of the 2010s, the Sellita caliber SW210-1 is introduced. It has the same improvements in performance, durability, and reliability as the SW200-1. Follow the link above to the SW200 to read more about this, the finish grades, and quality grades. The power reserve goes up with about 3 hours.
.
The SW210-1 a and SW210-1 b are the most popular SW210’s, a standard three-hander with or without date. Where all hand-wound movements within the SW210 series have an “M” after the name (Manual) there are four exceptions. The aforementioned SW210-1 a and b, and the SW216-1 and SW219-1.
.
The SW216-1 is the hand-winder with small seconds at the 6 o’clock position. The SW219-1 is the hand-winder with small seconds at 9 o’clock. And to make the puzzle easier: there is also an SW216-1 M. The difference between the SW216-1 and SW216-1 M is the pivot point distance of the small seconds; 6.4 millimeters vs 7.6 millimeters.
