The Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono Cycling Edition is kind of inspired by a Road Cycling Team that is sponsored by the Swiss brand. This Tudor Pro Cycling Team participates in races like the Giro d’Italia and many other local races, with two teams. A Pro team and an Under 23 team. This new FXD focusses on usability when cycling, with a special tachymeter.

Its 43-millimeter case is from carbon composite, very light and durable and a material that is often used in cycling. The watch is executed in black: case, bezel, dial, and strap. The black matt dial has red accents echoing the color theme of the brand’s Pro Cycling Team. And it has a cycling-specific tachymeter scale on the edge of the dial.

Tachymeter for cyclists

The tachymeter is printed on a 45°-angled rehaut, which is the “rim” between the dial and sapphire crystal. The scale is re-calibrated to focus on the speeds that cyclists ride at, instead of the usual (race) car speeds. And it is “wrapped” around the dial in a spiral, to make it easier for cyclists to read their measured speed at a glance.

Of course, this Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono Cycling Edition has the signature square hour-markers and “Snowflake” hands. The large surfaces have more space for luminescent ceramic composite offering more contrast and clarity. There is a 45-minute counter at the 3 o’clock position and at 9 o’clock are the small seconds. At 6 there is a date window. The crown and pushers are titanium, and the case back is solid to ensure a water resistance of 100 meters / 330 feet.

The Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono Cycling Edition has a power reserve of 70 hours

Inside is the automatic Tudor caliber MT5813 which can also be found in the Tudor Black Bay Chrono for instance. It is COSC certified, has a bidirectional rotor system and a non-magnetic silicon balance spring. The power reserve is 70 hours.

The Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono Cycling Edition comes on a single-piece black fabric strap. Which wears comfortable when cycling, for sure.
