The Ulysse Nardin Freak X Enamel Seddiqi is a 30-piece limited edition with the renewed dial setup of UN. This execution celebrates a partnership between the Swiss watchmaker and Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, the leading luxury watch retailer in the Middle East. So, it aims to blend shared cultural traditions and advanced mechanical design into an extraordinary timepiece.
Introduced in 2001, the Ulysse Nardin Freak broke conventions in watch design. It eliminated the traditional dial, hands, and crown, instead using a carousel movement to tell time. It was also one of the first watches to incorporate silicon, a material now common in watchmaking due to its resistance to magnetism, lightness, and precision.
A Closer Look at the Seddiqi Edition
This Freak X Enamel Seddiqi is encased in a 43-millimeter grey titanium case. Its defining feature is the hour disc, made using traditional guilloché and enamel techniques. The disc’s deep “Yas Blue” color is inspired by the evening skies over the Gulf of Arabia, achieved through a labor-intensive enameling process.
The hour markers appear as floating batons, while a pointer on the rotating hour disc indicates the hour. UN’s signature carousel doubles as the minute hand. It completes one full rotation every hour, creating a unique visual experience.

Inside the UN-230 Movement
The Freak X Enamel Seddiqi runs on the caliber UN-230 movement, a manufacture automatic with a 72-hour power reserve. This movement integrates modern materials like the aforementioned silicon but with a traditional focus on craftsmanship. And it is a flying carousel movement, rotating around its axis to indicate the minutes.
This Seddiqi edition comes with a black ballistic-textured rubber strap featuring white stitching. It is secured with a titanium folding buckle.
Pricing of the Ulysse Nardin Freak X Enamel Seddiqi
The Ulysse Nardin Freak X Enamel Seddiqi is priced at 154,000 AED, equivalent to approximately 40 to 41k in dollars or euros. There are competitors also focusing on avant-garde design and technical innovation, however, the Freak X stands out for its unique flying movement.
There is a manufacturer that also creates rotating dial-like constructions, which is Ressence. But the style of both brands cannot be compared, we think…
