The Vacheron Constantin Les Cabinotiers Armillary Tourbillon – High Jewellery celebrates the 175th anniversary of Harrods, London’s luxury department store. For that Harrods organizes the “Pioneers of the Exceptional”, an experience that can be visited from the 19th of June to the 21st of July 2024. It shows the world of high watchmaking from both Harrods and Vacheron Constantin in a “multi-sensory 4D VR experience”.
Go to the fifth floor and you will find what VC calls an “Exceptional Voyage” where they showcase a great set of historic watches. There you will also find a small cinema for the virtual reality experience as well as this exceptional Les Cabinotiers timepiece.
671 diamonds and retrograde hands
The watch is more or less the same as the Vacheron Constantin Les Cabinotiers Armillary tourbillon – Tribute to Art Deco style. However, you have to look twice to see the similarities. This new High Jewellery model has the same tourbillon and the same instantaneous double retrograde display for the hours and minutes. And these indications are coupled with a bi-axial armillary tourbillon with small seconds, with a special and large dome above it.
It has 671 brilliant-cut diamonds on the case middle, lugs, bezel, dial flange, and folding clasp. The dial is built on a main plate that is encrusted with specially treated green mother-of-pearl. A part of the 671 diamonds is on a chapter ring punctuated with Roman numerals forming a half-dial. The case itself is 45 millimeters and from platinum.

The heart of the watch is formed by the Vacheron Constantin caliber 1990, a hand-wound movement with a power reserve of 58 hours. It is Hallmark of Geneva certified, proving the quality of the finishing and decoration of the movement.
The Vacheron Constantin Les Cabinotiers Armillary Tourbillon – High Jewellery can be worn with a green Mississippiensis alligator leather with an alligator leather inner shell. And even the 950 platinum folding clasp has diamonds, 34 brilliant-cut ones to be precise. The price of the watch is not published, we’re not even sure if the watch is for sale.
