These Vacheron Constantin Les Cabinotiers Le Temps Divin Japanese Deities models are part of a larger series of Les Cabinotiers Le Temps Divin. The brand reveals no less than 9 new models at once. And all are unique pieces.
As these all have their own theme around divine time, we split the launch into three parts in order to keep it a bit clear for our readers. May we politely suggest, especially for their marketing, that VC launches a series like this one by one next time, spread over a month or so. Just saying…
Inspired by Japanese mythology
Anyway, the central theme here is odes to Japanese deities. So, this Les Cabinotiers Le Temps Divin collection is inspired by Japanese mythology and captures the essence of time as seen through cultural and metaphysical lenses.
This series celebrates three significant Japanese deities (the links open the Wikipedia page of each deity), Konohanasakuya-hime, Amaterasu, and Izanagi. Each symbolizes aspects of creation, renewal, and the cyclical nature of life.
Traditional Japanese symbols for the dials
The collection employs traditional Japanese techniques and symbols, with each deity meticulously represented through intaglio engraving, grisaille enamel, and miniature enamel painting on the dial.
The symbolic off-center design of the dials reflects Japanese aesthetics and the focus on harmony between the spiritual and physical realms. Vacheron Constantin’s team of engravers and enamellers spent weeks perfecting each dial, emphasizing their craftsmanship and their commitment to preserving rare skills.
Different cases
Each watch in this series is crafted in precious metals, with cases in either white gold or yellow gold. The Les Cabinotiers Ode to Izanagi, for instance, features an 18-karat white gold case with a diameter of 40 millimeters and a thickness of 9.4 millimeters.
The Ode to Konohanasakuya-hime and Ode to Amaterasu, meanwhile, come in white gold and 18-karat yellow, respectively. And these have a 36-millimeter case with an 8-millimeter thickness. The dials are elaborate works of art, with intricate engravings by hand or delicate enamel layers to show the deities.
The power reserve of the Vacheron Constantin Les Cabinotiers Le Temps Divin Japanese Deities is 40 to 42 hours
The 36-millimeter models have the hand-wound Vacheron Constantin caliber 1440 with a power reserve of 42 hours. The 40-millimeter model runs on the automatic Vacheron Constantin caliber 2460 sporting a power reserve of 40 hours. All the movements are Hallmark of Geneva certified and are meticulously crafted with attention to finishing details. Of course, enhancing the visual appeal which can be seen through the transparent sapphire case back.
For the 40-millimeter version, you have to open the hinged white gold case back first, as it has a so-called officer case back.
Straps complementing the color palettes
The strap selections complement the thematic color palettes of each piece. For the 40-millimeter Ode to Izanagi, a dark brown alligator leather strap matches the elegance of the dial. Then the Ode to Amaterasu. It comes with a red satin strap, adding a touch of vibrancy that aligns with Amaterasu’s role as the sun deity.
Lastly, the Konohanasakuya-hime piece includes a pink satin strap, symbolizing the cherry blossoms associated with this goddess of Mount Fuji. Each strap fastens with an 18-karat gold pin buckle that matches the case material. That reinforces the luxurious yet cohesive design.
Pricing for the Le Temps Divin Japanese Deities models
The price for these pieces is on request, but they are with no doubt positioned in the ultra-luxury segment. We think well above 100k. Which might reflect their uniqueness, the labor-intensive artistry involved, and the materials used.
