The Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Moon Phase Retrograde Date White Gold is what it says and enriches the Partimony series of the brand. The series started in 2004 and we have seen various kinds of these mostly dress watches inspired by the minimalistic design of the 1950s. In 2016 VC launched a Patrimony with moon phase and retrograde date function, and this new iteration has some small changes.
Just like the earlier versions, this one is also crafted in a 42.5 millimeter case. The dial is new for the series, which has a vintage silver-toned hue. The retrograde date hand sweeps back when it reaches the end. With a half oval shape it is situated from the 9 to 3 o’clock position. The moon phase is located just above 6 o’clock. Also readable is the age of the moon, indicated by the scale above the moon phase.

The watch has pink gold hands and applied hour-markers complimenting the shade of the silver-ish dial. And pink gold pearls are applied as a circular minutes track.
The automatic Vacheron Constantin caliber 2460 R31L powers this timepiece, the mechanism is revealed at the back of the case. Including the skeletonized golden rotor with the brand’s logo and fine finishing, “rewarded” with the Hallmark of Geneva. And it has a power reserve of 40 hours.

The 2460 R31L movement is comparable with the Vacheron Constantin caliber 2460 R31L/2. Which can be found in the Vacheron Constantin Overseas Moon Phase Retrograde Date for instance. However, that one is hand-wound, in this Patrimony it is an automatic.
This new Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Moon Phase Retrograde Date White Gold comes on an olive-green alligator leather strap secured with a white gold pin buckle. Which has the shape of a half Maltese cross, not in half the logo of Vacheron.
