Size: 42.5 mm
Reference: 5100T/000P-H041 – limited to 50 pieces

The Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Tourbillon Chronograph Collection Excellence Platine is the most platinum watch available, we think. Only the movement, hands, and strap are not from platinum. However, the stitching on the strap is platinum as well. A non-platinum model was already released in 2020, so basically only the full-platinum part is new. And it is limited to 50 pieces only.

From its 42.5-millimeter case, down to its dial, crown, clasp, and strap stitching, it’s all platinum. The dial features a large tourbillon aperture with a Maltese cross-shaped carriage at 12 o’clock. And there is a 45-minute chronograph counter positioned at 3 o’clock plus a power-reserve indicator at 6 o’clock. The hands and hour-markers are from white gold, we don’t know why these are not in platinum too. Its crown is equipped with a pusher to operating the mono-pusher chronograph.

The Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Tourbillon Chronograph Collection Excellence Platine has a power reserve of 65 hours

Inside beats the hand-wound Vacheron Constantin caliber 3200 that was created in-house to mark VC’s 260th anniversary a couple of years ago. You might know it from the 2016 Vacheron Constantin Harmony Tourbillon Chronograph. The entire mechanism can be admired through the sapphire case back. It operates at a frequency of 2.5 Hz delivering a power reserve of 65 hours.

This platine Tourbillon Chronograph comes on a dark blue Mississippiensis alligator leather strap with alligator inner shell. It is hand-stitched with platinum 950 and silk, has saddle-finish, and large square scales. The folding clasp is also 950 platinum.
