More than 60 years after the first Cricket Nautical diver the revived brand launches a new diver with alarm: the Vulcain Cricket Nautical 2023. It is a re-edition of the 2011 version with aquatic alarm, which was a re-edition of the original from 1961.
This new model, available from September 2023, has a 42.20-millimeter stainless steel case, now with sapphire crystal. The dial in semi-matte black has two parts. The outer part is displaying the hours with numerals and indexes in white super-luminova. The inner part is the special feature as it functions as a rotating bezel and shows a decompression table. When diving you can adjust your diving time like you do with the bezel of a regular diver. And after diving you can adjust the time for decompression, operated by the screw-in crown at the 4 o’clock position.
The Vulcain Cricket Nautical 2023 has a power reserve of 42 hours
To remind you of whatever you need to do, you can set an alarm which makes the watch chirp like a cricket. And it also vibrates so when diving you will be triggered by the alarm as well. To house the alarm and make it function, the Vulcain Cricket Nautical 2023 has a triple case back, creating space for the alarm parts of the movement and to create a ‘sound chamber’. The watch can withstand 30 bar of water pressure.
Inside the Vulcain Cricket Nautical 2023 is the hand-wound Vulcain caliber ‘Cricket Manufacture V-10’ which delivers a power reserve of 42 hours. Thanks to two barrels it has enough power to ensure the alarm can function for at least 20 seconds.
