A Defy to dive with, this is the Zenith Defy Extreme Diver with a waterproofness up to 600 meters or 2,000 feet. Well, 1,969 feet to be precise. The Swiss brand also created a new vintage diver with the Zenith Defy Revival A3648 – a remake of the 1969 Zenith Defy Ref. A3648 – but this Defy Extreme Diver is the modern one suitable for the real work.
The angular 42.5-millimeter case is from brushed titanium, light and strong, plus highly resistant to corrosion from salty seawater. Of course it has a diver’s bezel, from ceramic and unidirectional with grooved edges for more grip if you wear gloves. And it has a lot of super-luminova, in blue, green and orange, to light-up the essential information in the dark.
What is a helium escape valve?
The underline it is a serious diver, the Zenith Defy Extreme Diver has a helium escape valve. This automatic mechanism is used to let out these gas molecules after the decompression stage of a saturation dive. Without the valve helium would kind of accumulate inside the watch and damage it at long last.
This diver meets the ISO 6425 requirements for professional diver watches. This also includes the ISO 764 requirements for para-magnetism as well as ISO 1413 for shock-resistance. It should tell you this is pro diver. Available in two colors: with a sunburst finish black or blue dial.
The Zenith Defy Extreme Diver has a power reserve of 60 hours
Today’s divers, even the tough ones, can be executed with a see-through case back which enables you to admire the movement. Inside this Defy it is the automatic Zenith caliber El Primero 3620 SC, a variant of the El Primero 3620. It is a high-frequency in-house movement with a star-shaped oscillating weight with satined finishings and a power reserve of 60 hours.
The Zenith Defy Extreme Diver comes with a full interchangeable strap system and three straps. Which is quite a good offer. For diving you have a rubber strap with Cordura effect and folding buckle. Then there is an extra-long fabric strap made of recycled fishing nets with a pin buckle. Easy to wear over a wetsuit. And lastly a three-link titanium bracelet with folding clasp.
