The Zenith Defy Skyline Tourbillon Felipe Pantone is a collaboration between the Swiss brand and the artist whose name is connected to this watch. It’s one of Zenith’s top pieces, a 41 millimeter stainless steel Defy Skyline with a tourbillon. And cool psychedelic colors.
You might have seen this tourbillon before with the “basic” model of the Zenith Defy Skyline Tourbillon. That model is available in steel with a blue dial or black ceramic with a black dial, also in 41 millimeters. But if these are not special enough for you, then take a closer look at this Felipe Pantone model.
Who is Felipe Pantone?
Felipe Pantone (1986) is an Argentine-Spanish artist, based in Valencia, Spain. His current work plays with bold and bright colors and geometrical patterns, and he has collaborated with Zenith before, leading to colorful models as well.
This CD-colored tourbillon is the latest piece of art. It is a coincidence we hope, but one of the international color code standards is called Pantone. So somehow you can expect a colorful palette from an artist whose name is Pantone.
Sapphire dial with rainbow coating
The base for all these colors is a tinted sapphire dial, housed in a 41-millimeter stainless steel case. Then a mirror metallization and iridescent laser texturization is applied to the sapphire for this shiny CD-colored effect.
The hand and markers are rhodium-plated and faceted with a rainbow-colored PVD coating. On top is super-luminova (grade C1). On top of that are specific parts of the tourbillon that also have these blue, red and purple effects, complementing the whole magic of the watch.
The Zenith Defy Skyline Tourbillon Felipe Pantone has a power reserve of 60 hours
The movement of this Zenith Defy Skyline Tourbillon Felipe Pantone is obviously an El Primero. Here the automatic Zenith caliber El Primero 3630 with a power reserve of 60 hours. You can see it through the sapphire case back, where the oscillating weight also got a rainbow-color treatment. And its shape is the five-pointed Zenith star.
This limited edition (100 pieces) comes on a stainless steel bracelet with an additional black rubber strap. Which also has some stars on it. The folding clasp is also stainless steel and the watch box is customized for this model.
