The Zenith El Primero Skeleton Intense Black is the fourth black skeleton model within Zenith’s El Primero collection. There is the El Primero Lightweight from 2013 with a case of ceramicized aluminum and carbon. We have seen the Zenith El Primero Tourbillon Skeleton Intense Black in black ceramic. And there is also a limited edition Zenith El Primero Skeleton Tribute to the Rolling Stones in black ceramic. This one is basically the same but without Mick Jagger’s tongue on it.
The skeletonized dial offers a great view on the El Primero movement. There are see-through sub dials for the small seconds, and 12-hours and 30-minutes counters of the chronograph. The disc for the date can be seen on the outer ring of the movement. Only the current date at 6 o’clock is colored red. Which is, together with the red tip of the chronograph second hand, the only non-black element of the watch. The rest of the parts are in black, probably 50 shades of grey and steel colors. Which all looks dark, and great.
The Zenith El Primero Skeleton Intense Black is five times less expensive than the Tourbillon version
Inside is Zenith’s El Primero 400B caliber with a 5 Hz column-wheel chronograph and 50 hours of power-reserve. You could go for the Tourbillon version, however this one is five times less expensive. Or go for one of the 250 Rolling Stones time pieces for just 500 more…
